A Letter
From the President of the Board of Trustees
|
As many of you may recall, during February of 2007, the oil burner in
the Manse failed, causing 4 pipes to burst while the building was
unoccupied. This caused significant damage to the interior of the
building and required a major overhaul of the entire house.
|
 |
The result is we now
have a very beautiful home again with a modern kitchen, three remodeled
bathrooms, and an outside porch with insulated windows. The entire
inside of the building has also been painted from top to bottom.
|
We did have an
insurance claim which covered the damage caused by the burst pipes but
not the other changes that were made to the house. Once we had
such major damage done to the Manse, we had no alternative but to
rebuild the house completely on the inside. This work has been
completed and we now have a Manse of which everyone can take pride.

Jason Brannon,
our Youth Director, lives in the Manse and will
occasionally use the house as part of his outreach to the neighborhood
youth. |
| We are taking this
opportunity to request that each of you prayerfully consider a
contribution to what we are calling the “Manse Restoration
Fund”. Click here
to open a window that outlines the expenses incurred by the Church as
well as the overall restoration costs paid for by the insurance company. |

Many of you
toured the Manse at our Open House on Sunday April 13th,
and I think you will agree that the Manse now looks the best that it
has in years. Please carefully consider giving to this important
endeavor as it truly will have an impact on the next phase in the life
of our church here in Olney. |
Yours in His Service,
William A. McKeown
President, Board of
Trustees
