BEYOND 2025
This page is to share important news regarding the future of Olney
Presbyterian and an opportunity for you to participate in our Capital
Campaign to raise $100,000.
We recently had to transfer $30,000 from the Endowment Fund to the
Current Expense Fund. This transfer was required to meet the unmet
congregational giving to this fund - and this is not the first time.
Over the years, the Endowment Fund has provided financial assistance
for operations and building needs in excess of $200,000.
Why now? Because we have reached an inflection point in the life of our
congregation. Our current path forward is unsustainable; and despite
the generous giving of members and friends, it simply is not enough in
today’s environment and the challenges we face. In light of this
situation, we need to rethink what the future looks like at the corner
of Tabor Road and Third Street.
Where will the $100,000 be allocated? There are four areas:
• $30,000 to replenish the Endowment Fund by $30,000 that was recently
moved to the operating budget. This will be added to our current
balance and, in some measure, shore up the fund.
• $30,000 to the Current Expense Fund to strengthen the fund and as a
hedge against future deficit spending.
• $30,000 to the Building Maintenance Fund. Our buildings are close to
100 years old and the infrastructures in place at that time are quickly
deteriorating and are in constant need of repair. A list of proposed
fixes and upgrades is included in the PDF below.
• $10,000 to be set aside for Missions, as we continue to support
missionaries around the world through our Missions and Benevolence Fund.
The campaign will start November 16, 2025, and conclude on January 16,
2026. The name of this campaign is Beyond 2025. We would appreciate
hearing from you as soon as possible if you plan on participating.

indicating the amount you wish to give, in addition to your current
giving, for the ongoing support of First Presbyterian Church of Olney.
All donations will be set aside in a separate account, and periodic
updates will be provided.
